Who Are The Scholars That We Can take Knowledge From

Wa alaykum assalaam wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,

To proceed:

I advice every person who is capable of benefiting directly from the scholars of the Salaf to do so, like the companions of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him), and those who followed them with faith and the followers of the Tabi´een, and those who followed this methdology from the Imaams of Islaam like Ibn Abdul-Birr, Al-Khateeb Al-Baghdaadi, Al Baghawi, Ibnu Qudaamah Al-Maqdisi, Ibn Taymiyyah, Ath-Thahabi, Ibnul Qayyim, Ibn Katheer, Ibn Rajab and the other Imaams of Islaam.

However, if the the person is not able to take knowledge directly from those people, then let him take from the contemporary scholars, who followed the methodology of the righteous predecessors and did not change, like the four Mujaddids: Ibn Baaz, Albaani, Al-Waadi´ee and Ibn Uthaymeen.

Also, to take from their (four Mujaddids) brothers, the Sunni scholars, like Ahmad An-Najmi, Muhammad Bin Abdul-Wahaab Al-Banna, Muhammad Amaan Al-Jaami, Saalih Al Fawzaan, Rabee´ Al Madkhali, Zayd Al Madkhali, Saalih Al-Luhaidaan, Abdul Azeez Ar-Raajihi, ´Ubayd Al Jaabiri and Abdul Muhsin Al Abbaad.

And these names that I have mentioned are an example and not out of restriction, because the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah are many (Praise be to Allaah). And Allaah is the one Who grants success.
