The Meaning of: That You May Find Repose In Them

Question
In The Name of AllaahAllah (The Most High, The Exalted) saidAnd among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Surat ar-Roum: 21What does ´´ That You May Find Repose In Them´´ mean? And how should the repose be? Also, can the wife find a repose in the wife? And how can affection and mercy be found between the husband and the wife? May Allah reward you with good
reply

That You May Find Repose In Them, meaning that you become familiar with them, you incline towards them and feel tranquil with them, and this could be attained through having a pleasant life and and good relationship between the partners

Men are a repose for women

Allah (The Most High, The Exalted) said

They are Libas [i.e. body cover, or screen, or Sakan, (i.e. you enjoy the pleasure of living with her - as in Verse 7:189) Tafsir At-Tabari], for you and you are the same for them

Surat Al-Baqarah: 187

Ibn ´Abbaas and others said regarding this verse: They (wives) are a repose for you, and you (husbands) are a repose for them

Affection and mercy can be attained through good relationship between both of them, and by knowing each one´s rights upon the other, and Allaah knows best
