Bisillaahi ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem

All praise is to Allaah, Peace and Blessings be upon the one that was sent as a mercy to mankind, our master Muhammad and upon his household and companions

:To proceed

After the request of some of our noble brothers, I have decided to write my own biography, so that Allaah might benefit [people] with it. It is established by the people of knowledge, that knowledge is not to be taken except for the one, who’s knowledge and Religion is trusted. And it is not possible that people trust me or trust others, without knowing us, or without being given tazkiyyah from those who are trusted by the people. Therefore, I will write my own biography and mention it, the tazkiyyah that I was given by the people of knowledge

:With the aid of Allaah, we begin

My name is Ali bin Mukhtaar bin Hassaan Aal Ali al-Barri ar-Ramli al-Urduni
I was born in the in Northern Haashimi Mountain, which is located in Amman al-Balkaa’, the capital of Jordan, May Allaah preserve it and keep it safe from tribulations and from every type of harm and evil. It is from the countries of Shaam, may Allah protect it. I stayed in Jordan for a year, and then my father migrated to Libya, taking me with him

My father was born in the village of Barriyyah, which is known as the village of ‘Asal (honey), in the city of Ramla in Palestine. A lot of scholars of hadeeth originate from it. I have lived in Libya, and did my elementary, primary and high education. However, due to the difficult financial circumstances, I dropped out in my last year of high school, and I chose to work instead of studying

After that, I went back to Jordan, and started looking for someone to teach me the matter of my religion, but I couldn’t find anybody interested in teaching and graduating students of knowledge in this country. Also, was not able to meet ash-Shaykh al-Albani – may Allah have mercy on him – because at that time he was prohibited from teaching. So, he stayed in his library, to complete his great project; for he has cleared himself infront of Allaah in regards to that which was obligatory upon him from the matters of Da’wah. So when the door of Da’wah was shut in this face, he turned to other ways – May Allaah reward him with good

Then, I met one of the Libyan brothers who used to study under Shaykh Muqbil – May Allaah have mercy on him – and I told this brother about my love of seeking knowledge and that I couldn’t find someone to teach me in this country. So the brother informed me about the school of Shaykh Muqbil – May Allah have mercy upon him – and about the great benefit and good that it has in it. Hence i went to Dammaj, and the Shaykh welcomed me and invited me to lunch and that was his habit with every visitor or student that comes newly to Dammaj, so I had lunch with him - May Allah hav mercy on him

Then my path in seeking knowledge began, and I used to attend most of the Shaykh’s lessons, and I studied Uloomul-Aalah under the senior students of the Shaykh. Our day consisted of attending lectures and revising what we have learnt in these lectures. As for our living, then we used to be sufficed sometimes and hungry at other times. And the Shaykh put all his effort into making the students comfortable, and he was very generous and didn’t care about the Dunya. And he – May Allaah have mercy on him – informed us that Shaykh bin Baz used to support the centre a lot. Also, support used to come from those who loved the da’wah of the Shaykh, may Allaah bless them all. He also didn’t save any of his spare time except that he would be close to his students, being merciful to them, advising him and aiding them. May Allaah have mercy on him, for he was so kind to his student and he was so lenient as long as the boundaries of Allaah were not crossed

After spending 3 years with Shaykh Muqbil, studying day and night, the Shaykh’s illness became severe, and he decided to stay in Makkah. We then realised that the Shaykh was not going to come back to Dammaj, as he passed the matter of teaching to Shaykh Yahya al-Hajoori. And before that, I had started teaching Mustalah al-Hadeeth for the new students. I taught al-Bayqooniyyah and Ikhtisaar Uloom al-Hadeeth of ibn Katheer, and this was during the presence of the Shaykh in Dammaj. Then i went back to Jordan and I worked under Shaykh Mashhoor, aiding him in doing tahqeeq (checking and sourcing ahadeeth) of most of ‘Awn al-Ma’bood, where I met him upon the original copy and I implemented the rulings of al-Albani – may Allaah have mercy upon him – upon it. Moreover, I indexed for him the book of ibn Ghannaam about dream interpretation, as well as organising the diwaan (poems) of ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib, and I made for him tahqeeq of at-Tayseer Sharh al-Jaami’ as-Sagheer (The explanation of al-Jaami’ as-Sagheer) of al-Mennawai. I organised it and implemented the rulings of al-Albani upon it, also, I made a commentary concerning the Aqeedah mistakes that are in the book. I was upon that for about 5 years, and then I stopped working with him

After that period, I began calling to Allaah in the area that I live in, and I taught the following books

Kitaab at-Tawheed
Lam’atul I’tiqaad
Al-Aqeedah al-Waasitiyyah
Usool us-Sunnah of Imaam Ahmad
Ad-Dorar al-bahiyyah
Some of ar-Rawdah an-Nadiyyah
Al-Iqnaa’ for ibn al-Munther
Al-Usool min ‘Ilm al-Munther
Al-Usool min ‘Ilm al-Usool
Al-Bayqooniyyah
Ikhtisaar Uloomul-Hadeeth
Explanation of al-‘Ilal of ibn Rajab
Tafseer of Various Surahs in the Qur’aan
Some of the Tafseer of as-Sa’di
Some of the Sunan of Abu Dawood

Then I was prohibited from teaching and giving lectures. So I decided to call to Allaah through the internet, so I opened up this website carry on calling to Allaah. So I ask Allaah to grant me success in that which is coming and that he grant us patience and firmness, and that he blesses my knowledge and my deeds and that he aids me upon good. And I hope that our noble brothers aid me in all that is good and that they excuse me for my shortcomings. May He be exalted, the One Who has no imperfections
